Living is hard. There are bills to pay, heartbreaks to contend with, mouths to feed, and places to go. As if that isn’t enough already, it seems that insurance companies are telling us that we need a plethora of insurances on various facets of our lives in order to get by.
So which insurances do we really need? Which ones matter and which don’t? And what do they even mean to begin with? We’ve compiled a list of four different insurance options and the importance of them. So read up and get ready to throw down money to protect certain facets of your life!
Homeowners Insurance
If you are a homeowner, then it is absolutely mandatory that you have homeowner’s insurance. In fact, the bank will know if you don’t have it, and will soon place their own on your home, and will begin charging you for it. So unless you have paid off your mortgage, you really have to have some semblance of homeowner’s insurance.
Car Insurance
Car insurance is another necessity. If you don’t have auto insurance while driving, it’s considered a felony, and you will be sent to jail with a suspended license, and a fine to boot.
Health Insurance
While health insurance isn’t technically necessary, paying out of pocket for medical expenses can be overwhelmingly expensive. If you’re under the age of 26, it’s possible to remain on your parents’ health insurance, but other than that, think about making an investment.
Life Insurance
Of all of the insurance options, many tend to believe that this isn’t necessary. If you have a family, kids, loved ones, or anyone you wish to leave a legacy to, it is extremely important that you invest in life insurance. Typically, you start planning for this policy in your late 30s, and can cost you as little as $20 per month.
